The one and only Orchard Park Hotel, Bar + Grill

It all started over 36 years ago with a vision to transform the original Orchard Park Hotel and create a modern place to meet and stay.
Brothers Gerald, Peter and Philip purchased the hotel in 1985 drawing on extensive experience from running a variety of businesses including Ice Cream Parlours and The Dew Drop Inn in Glasgow. Under their management the business grew successfully and was soon established as the number one destination in the Southside of Glasgow.
In true Italian style the business welcomed family into the team and is now owned and managed by Peter and Philip’s sons Christopher and Peter Capaldi with their wives Gillian and Julie Capaldi.
Together the Capaldi Families work hard to continually develop the business whilst maintaining the personal family experience. A visit to The Orchard Park is like being welcomed into their home.
The Grade C Listed Orchard Park Hotel stands on the corner of Park Road and Fenwick Road in the middle of what was once Orchard Farm, a holding that stretched from Park Road to Burnfield Road. This original blonde sandstone villa was built as a private residence called ‘Orchard House’ at the beginning of the twentieth century and at one time the owner of Orchard Farm lived there.
In 1947 it became the Orchard Maternity Nursing Home where many bouncing babies started their journey, including former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
The hospital was converted to a Hotel in 1962 and to this day retains many of the house’s original features for example, stained glass, mouldings and woodwork.
The Orchard Park is still a place for family and friends to gather and celebrate many important events and is a daily hub of the community whilst attracting visitors from afar to experience the magic we have to offer.
